Many women hit their 50s and 60s and believe that younger hairstyles are no longer suitable for them – but that is not the case.

At middle age and beyond, it is entirely possible to wear a dynamic, youthful look. One 64-year-old woman demonstrated how she rocks a curly hairdo complete with wispy bangs and plenty of volume.

Harrah Brown (@harrah.brown), uses her TikTok platform to “inspire you to be beautiful, fit and confident at any age”.

She told viewers that despite being 64, she “doesn’t let her age determine [her] hairstyle”.

Harrah demonstrated her “easy, everyday” hairstyle that appears to defy ageing. First, she sectioned her blonde locks before using a one-inch curling iron to curl her hair.

Next, she blow-dried her bangs (which are wispy across the forehead and longer at the sides).

Then, Harrah used a comb to gently tease the hair at the crown of her head for some added volume and texture.

Finally, the hair enthusiast used the comb to tease a few strands around her face.

What makes Harrah’s go-to look such a success is that bangs, face-framing and curls are all core components of an anti-ageing hairdo.

A fringe can be totally transformative, as it both frames the face and disguises signs of ageing on the forehead and around the eyes.

Curls are also effective in helping a woman take years off her appearance, as they are volume-boosting and create the illusion of thickness and dimension. Strategic hair teasing can have the same effect.

TikTok users went crazy over Harrah’s hairstyle, taking to the sharing platform to express their enthusiasm and desire to imitate the same look.

One social media user said: “I hope to God I look that amazing when I’m 64. Rock on sista.” And she wasn’t alone in her thinking, with almost 85,000 liking this comment.

Another seconded this: “I can only hope to be that beautiful at 64.” A third said: “I want to be you when I’m 64.”
