Lee Cohen has slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as “annus horribilis”.
Ex-Great Britain adviser to the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee claimed that the US has no “patience” for the Sussex’s anymore after they have suffered multiple “failures.”
The royal pair have faced criticism over their public endeavors since quitting their roles in the Royal Family and venturing across the pond in 2020.
Speaking to GBN America, Cohen said: “They say that in 1992, Queen Elizabeth experienced an annus horribilis, and I believe that 2023 is the Sussex’s annus horribilis.
“The Sussexes have had failure after failure and setback after setback.
“Their first failure, of course, was that they failed to harm the monarchy in the Royal Family. Americans have no appetite for what the Sussexes are selling.
“While initially they were received with a great deal of interest, Americans, like Brits, don’t have patience for negativity, for victimhood narratives, for trashing one’s family, for monetary gain, and certainly for hypocrisy.
“So their popularity in the United States continues to plunge.”
At the time, she said: “We have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them.
“We’re just really proud of what we are creating, and my husband is loving it too.”

During the appearance, the Duchess of Sussex discussed the resurgence of Suits as the legal drama she starred in has recently broken records on streaming platform Netflix.
Meghan said: “It was great to work on.
“Such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.
“But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
